It'll give about the same quality as 2 pass but much faster. That's a handbrake expression, the technical expression is constant rate factor mode. If you're having this much problem with speed don't use 2 pass. Believe me, if there was one it'd be the first thing everyone mentions. There is no magic program that is easy, fast, and gives good quality. It's a good solution for now.Handbrake (& vidcoder) aren't slow programs compared to other encoders. On this latest Vidcoder under Win10 that looks to be fixed or the new OS is handling it better. But there was always a screen display problem. I know Vidcoder is a good program and had it for years. For now I'll keep on with Handbrake1.3.3. I've done everything I can and am ready to leave it, perhaps to try an upcoming version. I'm not going to make any sort of duplicate to test the hardware since Vidcoder loads fine. The Win10 install is on an SSD as a test boot drive. I can use Vidcoder in a pinch.īut perhaps someone here can say if there are any _known_ advantages to the Windows 10 version other than adapting to a Microsoft OS version. In the Handbrake folder I put the libdvdcss dll as well. But the program does not load and no error message provided for a problem such as you need one of the numerous Net Framework downloads. It did show on a double click a box asking if it wanted to get the newest whatever. That is one thing I did not mention but it does not interfere with Vidcoder. I'm using the Windows 7 Shell program to get rid of the Win10 look and features and intrusions. Vidcoder installed no problem just from the vidcoder site.
